Eiko will be performing in Hong Kong this December for the West Kowloon Cultural District's new museum for visual culture, M Plus. She will be a featured artist in the ninth edition of their Mobile M Plus: Live Art series.
She will continue her practice of the A Body in Places series in using her body to respond to the unique characteristics of her environment. In Hong Kong, she will perform outdoors, on the Tim Mei Avenue Footbridge and the West Kowloon Cultural District.
Her performances will be complemented by an exhibition of her video work from her A Body in Fukushima project. The work will be shown at Connecting Space, a venue housing the transdisciplinary and transcultural exchange initiative of Zurich University of the Arts. The video is a product of her ongoing collaboration with photographer William Johnston and is created with his images of her dancing in the desolate landscapes of Fukushima in 2014.
