Tuesday, November 27 4:30pm: Reception and IDEA Cabaret Conversation with Eiko Otake
Throughout their forty-year career, Eiko & Koma have collaborated with filmmakers to document performances. Eiko will use these videos as a source material to create a video installation presenting artistic experiences, different from but related to, their performances. EIko & Koma have also created “dances for camera” as independent media works that are shown in museums and festivals. For the exhibition at the IDEA Space, Eiko will use both archival videos and media works to illuminate the core concerns of their life long work. She will explore the boundaries of time, memories, gaze of viewers, and bodies as landscape.
