Artists and scholars come together to discuss experimental approaches to Japanese performing arts for this workshop. The session deals with artistic engagements of history both through and as performance, emphasizing the contemporary social and political possibilities of performance as an embodied practice. During the 3-hour event, Eiko will lead a movement workshop and speak alongside composer / sound artist Miya Masaoka and director Brooke O’Harra.
