A Body in Fukushima: 2017

Photographer and historian William Johnston and Eiko visited Fukushima for the fourth time to continue working on their collaborative photo project A Body in Fukushima. They have been going to the towns that were recently announced as "livable" by the Japanese Government after years of forced evacuation following the nuclear meltdowns in 2011. Not surprisingly, these towns were only busy with workers engaged in decontamination work and hardly anyone else. They also went to a beach very close to the Fukushima Daiichi Plant as well as towns far enough  from Daiichi that people stayed but continue to worry about the accumulating effects of the radiation.
