Eiko at Dickinson College

Eiko visited Dickinson College in central Pennsylvania for five days, in which she performed in three sites both on campus and in town, guest-taught seven classes in three departments, gave one public video lecture about Fukushima, and had seven working meals with a wide range of professors and students. Throughout, she got to know the students of Dickinson and members of the surrounding Carlisle community.

Dickinson's review of Eiko's residency

Eiko was invited by fellow mover and choreographer, Sarah Skaggs to Dickinson. Sarah initiated and co-hosted her residency with the Clark Forum for Contemporary Issues; this was the first time that the Clark Forum invited an artist as its guest.

Sarah commented on the residency as it came to an end:
"Your words and movements still resonate with the students. ... This was a dance residency that won't fade in the student's mind - it will linger and I think help them to see what a "body in places" can do and be."
